Confidential recruitment for a seasoned Accountant to join a Luxury brand automotive dealership in Brossard, Quebec. This is a confidential assignment on behalf of a respected client seeking to add to its finance team with an experienced professional.

Role at a glance This position is based in Brossard, Quebec. You will own the end-to-end accounting cycle for the Canadian entity, drive accurate reporting, ensure compliance with applicable standards and tax requirements, and provide strategic financial insight to support operations and growth within a dynamic automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS as appropriate) and internal control requirements.
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, vendor reconciliations, cash application, and aging analysis.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and cost management, including standard costing, variance analysis, perpetual and period-end reconciliations, and cycle counts.
  • Administer fixed assets and depreciation, capital expenditures tracking, disposals, and impairment considerations; maintain asset registers.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition, project cost tracking, and related financial reporting in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor treasury activities, bank reconciliations, cash forecasting, and liquidity management; optimize working capital.
  • Maintain compliance with Quebec tax rules (GST/QST), payroll tax obligations, and other statutory filing requirements; coordinate with external advisors as needed.
  • Prepare schedules and support for internal and external audits; respond to auditor inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
  • Strengthen internal controls and governance practices; identify and implement process improvements, including automation and data integrity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, planning, and sales teams to provide financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analytics.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, capital budgeting support, cost-benefit analyses, and special projects as required.
  • Maintain accurate chart of accounts, data integrity, and reporting standards; familiarize stakeholders with financial results and drivers of performance.
  • Effectuate the payroll, group insurance and CNESST for employees

Required qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience; automotive manufacturing or distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or active progression toward designation; bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS as applicable) and Quebec regulatory requirements; familiarity with GST/QST and payroll tax compliance.
  • Strong cost accounting and inventory management experience; proficiency with standard costing and variance analysis in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with DMS systems,( Serti , CDK ) and advanced Excel;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and present clear recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual: fluency in French and English preferred; effective communication with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proactive team player capable of working independently and within a diverse, confidential environment.
