Automotive painter job description

The automotive body painter is responsible for preparing and finishing paint on vehicle bodies. Primary tasks include dismantling and reassembling body parts, sanding, cleaning, surface preparation, mixing paints and applying paint.

The auto body painter must also have an in-depth knowledge of the different types of paints, application techniques and tools needed to complete their job. They must also be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other members of the automotive repair team to ensure quality work and satisfactory customer service.

The auto body painter must also be safety conscious, adhering to environmental standards and government regulations regarding auto paint.
