Automotive Buyer
Under the supervision of the Sales Manager or Used Vehicle Manager, the Automotive Buyer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring vehicles for the group’s dealership inventories. This person works closely with sales teams, used vehicle departments, and the various dealerships to maintain an attractive, competitive inventory that meets customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify vehicles to acquire based on inventory needs.
- Evaluate vehicles obtained through trade-ins, direct purchases from individuals, or purchases from other dealerships.
- Conduct market analyses to determine purchase values and vehicle resale potential.
- Negotiate purchase terms with individuals, dealerships, and business partners.
- Manage the entire acquisition transaction process.
- Work with Sales Managers to identify specific inventory needs.
- Participate in physical and online auctions as required.
- Ensure acquisitions are profitable and meet established targets.
- Handle the administrative follow-up of purchase files and ensure documentation is accurate.
- Keep inventory management tools and databases up to date.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts to source quality vehicles.
Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive industry or a similar role (an asset).
