About the role
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team at Roadway Auto Service. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with various tools and machinery, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with heavy equipment are highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
- Discuss work with supervisor.
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Review work orders.
- Test automotive systems and components.
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
- Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service.
- Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
Requirements
- Area of specialization: Electrical and electronic system, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Engine repair and overhaul, Drive train components.
- Valid driver's licence.
