Job Summary: Under the supervision of the controller, the assistant controller contributes to the management of the financial operations of the dealership. He/she works closely with accounting and administration to ensure the rigor, compliance, and efficiency of financial processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the controller in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
- Participate in month-end entries, bank reconciliations, and monitoring of balance sheet accounts
- Verify and process accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Ensure the follow-up of inventory reports and discrepancies
- Collaborate on payroll management and administration of employee benefits (as needed)
- Participate in internal and external audits by gathering required documentation
- Assist in the analysis of budget variances and identification of improvement opportunities
- Maintain data integrity in the DMS system (CDK)
- Substitute for the controller as needed or during their absence
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in accounting, ideally in the automotive sector
- Strong proficiency in a DMS software (CDK)
- Solid skills in Excel and management tools
- Organizational skills, rigor, and analytical thinking
- Team spirit and ability to work under minimal supervision
- CPA designation (in progress or completed) is an asset
