About the role
Midas Nanaimo – Hammond Bay & Departure Bay is hiring experienced Automotive Technicians / Mechanics for its Hammond Bay and Departure Bay locations in Nanaimo. This is full-time, permanent employment.
Certification is not required to apply. If you have solid professional automotive repair experience, can confidently perform repairs and maintenance, and want to continue developing your skills, Midas wants to hear from you.
The busy, full-service shops offer consistent year-round work, professional equipment, and an experienced team. They value practical experience, quality workmanship, and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Brakes
- Steering and suspension
- Tires and wheel services
- Oil changes and scheduled maintenance
- Cooling systems
- Batteries, starting, and charging systems
- Belts and hoses
- Exhaust systems
- Basic electrical diagnosis
- Check-engine-light diagnosis
- General automotive repairs
- Digital vehicle inspections
Requirements
- Previous professional automotive repair experience
- Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to perform repairs independently within your skill level
- Your own basic automotive hand tools
- A valid driver’s licence
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Clear communication and the ability to work as part of a team
- Experience with domestic and import vehicles is an asset
- Experienced apprentices, uncertified mechanics, and licensed or Red Seal technicians are encouraged to apply
