Job Description
Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.
About the role
Peace Wapiti Public School Division's Transportation Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of more than 170 school buses and vehicles within the Division.
The Transportation Department is seeking either a
- Full Time Licensed Journeyman Automotive or Heavy Duty Mechanic or
- 3rd/4th Year Apprentice
to work out of the Grande Prairie Bus Shop.
A current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), dated within the last six months, is a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrate good communication skills
- Be able to work overtime when required

- Must be able to obtain a Commercial Vehicle Inspection License

Salary
- Journeyman Wage: $43.10/hour to $44.91/hour (based upon years of experience)
- 3rd year Apprentice Wage: $34.46/hour
- 4th year Apprentice Wage: $38.39/hour
