Job description
Under the authority of the Deputy Director of Parts and Vehicle Maintenance, the mechanic (male or female) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, maintaining the garage inventory, as well as ordering parts and tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Keep vehicles in good running condition by performing preventive and regular maintenance; • Assess all service requests for repairs and maintenance; • Use the most up-to-date technologies for all work orders, parts, and tools; • Maintain equipment to ensure compliance with provincial vehicle requirements and safety regulations; • Keep the garage in good working order by cleaning, organizing, and disposing of worn or defective equipment and parts; • Test vehicles on the road; • Update professional knowledge by participating in educational activities, reading technical publications, and attending training sessions sponsored by FCNQ; • All other related tasks requested by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
• A college diploma would be preferable, but the individual must hold a high school diploma or equivalent experience; • Possess a professional aptitude certificate in mechanics (CAP license); • A SAAQ certificate is an asset; • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook; • Valid Class 5 driver's license; • Autonomous and versatile; • Good oral and written communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English, and/or French.
CONDITIONS OF WORK
IMPORTANT: • This position is for work in Northern Quebec - Nunavik • Rotating schedule of at least 35 days in the north;
