OK PNEUS LAVAL, a trusted auto service and tire specialist in Laval, Quebec, Canada, is looking for a Mechanic / Technician to join our busy workshop. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who thrives in a collaborative environment and wishes to apply their advanced skills in a dynamic setting. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicles of various makes and models using diagnostic tools and software.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine services such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, tire rotations, and wheel alignments.
- Inspect, diagnose, and replace worn or defective components in braking, steering, suspension, exhaust, electrical, and transmission systems.
- Assist senior technicians with complex repairs, testing, and reassembly; document all work performed and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices, manufacturer specifications, and warranty requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly manage workshop tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers when appropriate and support service advisors with accurate time estimates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum hands-on experience as a Certified Automotive Technician; experience in the automotive service industry preferred.
- Vocational training or certification in automotive technology.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment (OBD-II scanners, multimeters, computerized testing tools) and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Valid driver's license; ability to work in a busy workshop environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and team spirit; excellent communication skills.
