Job Description
UNITED AUTO ALFA ROMEO, Boisbriand, Quebec, is seeking a Parts Counter Person to join our busy parts department. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a parts counter or automotive parts environment, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting.
What you'll do
- Greet customers at the parts counter and identify their vehicle parts needs, using OEM catalogs and our parts database.
- Look up and verify part numbers, check stock levels, and prepare quotes and orders.
- Process parts sales and returns, and handle warranty/RMA processes with accuracy.
- Place orders with suppliers as needed to fulfill customer requests and manage backorders.
- Collaborate with Service and Sales teams to ensure timely parts availability and dispatch.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe parts department; update inventory records; conduct cycle counts.
- Upsell accessories, maintenance items, and service-related parts when appropriate.
- Maintain customer records with price quotes and order history; follow up on outstanding orders.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a parts counter or automotive parts environment.
- Knowledge of automotive parts catalogs and cataloging software; ability to identify parts by OEM numbers and cross-reference.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with POS or ERP systems; ability to enter data accurately.
- Strong customer service orientation; effective communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities; able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment; keen attention to detail.
- Bilingual in French and English is preferred; additional languages are a plus.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
