Montreal, Quebec — Permanent full-time position, confidential, within a renowned car dealership.
Your Role Reporting to the service manager, the Workshop Foreman / Supervisor is responsible for the efficient distribution of work in the workshop. They ensure that work orders are assigned to technicians based on their skills, workload, and daily priorities to provide excellent customer service, meet deadlines, and maintain optimal productivity.
Main Responsibilities
- Distribute work orders to technicians according to their expertise and availability
- Prioritize work based on appointments, emergencies, and promised deadlines to clients
- Maintain ongoing follow-up on work progress in the workshop
- Adjust task distribution in response to unforeseen issues and changing priorities
- Collaborate closely with technical advisors, parts department, and service management
- Minimize downtime and maximize workshop efficiency
- Ensure technicians correctly clock in their operations
- Help resolve blockages related to parts, deadlines, or workload
- Contribute to maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards
Profile
- Experience in a mechanical workshop or car dealership
- Good knowledge of service department operations
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
- Good understanding of automotive mechanics
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit and strong communication skills
- Sense of urgency, rigor, and autonomy
- Knowledge of dealership management systems is an asset
- 3 years of experience in a mechanical workshop or car dealership (required)
