Job Description

Job Description: Martin Tire Service Inc. is looking for a technical and sales representative in outside sales to develop and serve a business clientele in the sectors of commercial tires, heavy vehicles, OTR tires, wheels, and fleet solutions. The successful candidate will need to understand the technical and commercial needs of clients, recommend appropriate products and services, and follow up on cases before and after the sale. He or she will be called upon to serve clients operating primarily in the trucking, excavation, construction, moving, school transportation, civil engineering, and various commercial fleet sectors. Technical knowledge of tires for each field is required.

Employment Conditions: • Number of positions available: 1 • Permanent full-time position • 30 hours per week • Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Salary: $38 per hour • Working languages: French and English • Regular travel required to clients, suppliers, and business partners

Responsibilities: • Develop, manage, and retain a large portfolio of commercial clients. • Analyze the market, competitors' activities, and industry trends, and participate in developing sales strategies. • Identify and solicit new clients and develop new business accounts. • Conduct regular visits to clients in the transportation, construction, excavation, civil engineering, and specialized services sectors. • Assess clients' technical, operational, and commercial needs, analyze tire characteristics, dimensions, load indices, applications, compatibility, and performance of tires, wheels, and offered services, and then recommend the most suitable solutions based on vehicle type, load carried, road conditions, mileage, sector, and fleet performance goals. • Explain technical characteristics of products, including dimensions, load indices, compatibility, performance, limits, usage conditions, and recommended applications. • Prepare quotes, price offers, and technical and commercial proposals, and negotiate certain sales conditions. • Perform preventive fleet inspections at clients’ sites, including measuring tread depth, checking air pressure, and examining the visible condition and wear of all types of tires to determine replacement needs and recommend appropriate preventive measures. • Make regular visits to clients, suppliers, distributors, and business partners, and travel to locations where commercial fleets are operated or parked. • Detect signs of premature or abnormal wear and recommend replacement, rotation, repair, maintenance, or monitoring of all types of tires. • Generate inspection reports in Excel and analyze mileage, lifespan, and profitability of various brands, new, and retreaded tires of all kinds. • Promote and manage retreading solutions, advise clients, verify carcass eligibility, collaborate with specialized partners, and compare the profitability of new and retreaded tires. Ensure after-sales follow-up, including warranties, adjustments, discounts, credits, and solving technical or commercial issues. • Follow up on technical, commercial, and administrative matters after the sale, handle warranties, adjustments, credits, and discounts, resolve client issues, and monitor invoicing, accounts, and payments. • Ensure customer satisfaction and develop and maintain customer loyalty. • Maintain an active presence with clients to promote growth in the heavy vehicle department. • Recommend measures to improve sales, customer retention, and the company's presence with commercial clients. • Communicate with suppliers to verify product features, availability, prices, and delivery times. • Participate in procurement and inventory management necessary to meet client needs. • Attend training, factory visits, industry events, and networking activities, including those organized by the Quebec Tire and Mechanical Specialist Association, to keep technical knowledge up to date. • Complete necessary training to acquire or deepen technical knowledge of the company's products and services. • Represent the company with clients, suppliers, distributors, partners, and industry associations. • Coordinate, if necessary, service calls and relay information to technicians needed to perform work. • Act as a technical resource for employees and share knowledge gained during training and field experiences. • Participate in certain administrative and operational tasks related to the heavy vehicle department, as needed.

Training: • A diploma, certificate, or other training attestment in sales, marketing, management, commerce, or a related field. • Training in technical sales, business development, negotiation, customer relationship management, automotive, or heavy vehicle sectors is a plus.

Experience: • Between two (2) and eight (8) years of experience in sales, sales representation, business development, outside sales, or B2B sales, management, or customer service. • The following experiences are assets: o sales of tires, automotive products, industrial or technical products; and/or o work with commercial fleets or heavy vehicles.

Desired Skills: • Interpersonal skills, professionalism, judgment, initiative, and customer service orientation. • Excellent sales, negotiation, and business development skills. • Ability to understand and explain technical information. • Ability to analyze client needs and recommend suitable solutions. • Autonomy, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and professionalism. • Ability to manage multiple clients, inspections, and follow-ups simultaneously. • Proficiency in Excel and comfort with sales and file management software. • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French and English (especially for analyzing technical documentation). • Knowledge of commercial tires, tires for heavy vehicles, OTR or off-road tires, tires for construction or civil engineering equipment, agricultural or specialized vehicle tires, steering tires, traction tires, trailer tires, new and retreaded tires, their dimensions, performance, mileage, lifespan, load indices, air pressures, PSI measurements, tread depth and measurements in thirty-seconds of an inch, wear types, retreading, costs, or fleet needs is an important asset.
