Job Description

Spring Honda is seeking an experienced, Honda-trained technician to join our team as a Working Shop Foreman / Senior Honda Diagnostic Technician.

This is a key leadership position for an accomplished technician who wants more than another flat-rate role. The successful candidate will help lead our shop, support and develop our technicians, resolve complex diagnostic concerns, improve workflow and quality control, and work closely with our Service Manager and dealership ownership to take the department to the next level.

The position combines hands-on technical work with shop leadership. Approximately 50%–65% of the role will involve diagnosing and completing repairs, with the remaining time focused on mentoring technicians, assisting with difficult repairs, monitoring quality, managing workflow and helping establish strong shop processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex Honda mechanical, electrical, drivability, hybrid and high-voltage concerns
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and apprentices
  • Assist with shop workflow, work distribution and prioritization
  • Perform quality-control inspections and help reduce comebacks
  • Support first-time fix performance and accurate repair-order documentation
  • Ensure warranty repairs and technical documentation meet Honda standards
  • Coach technicians on diagnostic processes, efficiency and repair quality
  • Help develop apprentices and create individual training plans
  • Monitor work in progress and help ensure repairs are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Promote a professional, organized and safety-focused shop environment
  • Work with the Service Manager and ownership to identify opportunities to improve productivity, capacity and customer satisfaction

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base wage of $45–$55 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Guaranteed 40-hour workweek
  • First-year earnings floor of $100,000, excluding relocation and signing incentives
  • Quarterly performance bonus based on shop productivity, repair quality, technician development and operational performance
  • Expected annual earnings of approximately $100,000–$140,000, with additional upside based on performance and overtime
  • Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance
  • $10,000 signing and retention bonus, paid in stages
  • Company-paid Honda training and technical development
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Tool and boot allowance
  • Vacation recognition based on previous experience
  • Support with toolbox transportation and temporary accommodation, where required

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification
  • Significant Honda or Acura dealership experience
  • Current or recent Honda factory training
  • Strong electrical, drivability and advanced diagnostic skills
  • Experience with Honda hybrid and high-voltage systems is an asset
  • Strong understanding of Honda warranty procedures and documentation
  • Proven ability to mentor apprentices and support other technicians
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Consistent focus on repair quality and first-time fix performance
  • Previous shop foreman or team-lead experience is preferred but not required

We are also interested in speaking with senior Honda or Acura diagnostic technicians who may not currently hold a formal foreman title but are already acting as the technical leader or mentor within their shop.
