Job Description
We are looking for a motivated workshop foreman, eager to build a solid career in the automotive industry. This person will ensure that repairs are done correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians. They will also ensure that after-sales service maintains a high level of customer satisfaction at all times.
Main tasks:
- Understand the warranty terms and manufacturer policies and ensure compliance;
- Ensure that all repairs are allocated to technicians fairly and equally;
- Provide technical support to technicians when needed;
- Ensure that repairs are charged correctly;
- Monitor the progress of each repair throughout the day;
- Maintain high-quality repair service and minimize return visits to the workshop;
- Conduct intermittent inspections of completed work to ensure thoroughness and quality;
- Perform road tests of vehicles to verify the quality of work performed;
- Participate in handling customer complaints in collaboration with their supervisor;
- Participate in managing the service’s performance using tools such as daily operations control, efficiency and productivity monitoring, reports on workshop returns, warranty reports, phone or email surveys, and monthly forecasts;
- Oversee the workshop’s condition, including cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance;
- Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and inventory of special tools;
- Stay informed of federal, provincial, and municipal regulations related to health and safety at work, maintenance activities, including hazardous waste disposal, etc.
Qualifications:
- Management skills and workload distribution;
- Experience with SERTI;
- Excellent technical skills in automotive mechanics to support technicians;
- Leadership and the ability to motivate a team (maintaining quality, minimizing returns, ensuring productivity);
- Rigor and organizational skills (quality control, compliance with health and safety rules, tool and inventory management).
