About the role
Position: Apprentice Automotive Technician (2nd Year Apprentice) Dealership: Fish Creek Nissan Location: Calgary, AB Classification: Full time, Immediate Hire

The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing oil changes, tire services, and complete multi-point inspections, presenting findings to the Service Advisor. They conduct diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems including brakes, engines, and electrical components using computerized tools to isolate faults.
Responsibilities
- Perform oil & filter change
- Sell lubrication, safety inspection, & related services
- Perform complete multi-point inspection on vehicles, mark required items on list & present findings to Service Advisor
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, & maintenance
- Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, & other items
- Inspect motors in operation, road test, & test systems & components using computerized diagnostics & other devices to diagnose & isolate faults
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts & components including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drive train, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, & electrical & electronic systems
Requirements
- Traditional Apprenticeship OR Motive Power grads welcome
- Oil change & tire experience is an asset
- Basic computer skills
- Shop / dealership experience preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time and ability to use power and hand-held equipment
- Must possess a valid Canadian Driver's license and a safe driving history

Compensation
The expected range of compensation for this position is $20 – $30 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
