Job description

Groupe Barnabé Rive-Sud, based in Brossard, Quebec, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support several of the Group's acquirers. This person will be supervised by the existing team and will collaborate with the various contacts at the acquirers. Primary workplace: Brossard.

Main responsibilities

  • Participate in management control and in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial statements of the Group's acquirers.
  • Collect, consolidate and analyze financial data in collaboration with the local teams and the acquirers.
  • Prepare analyses, performance reports and dashboards intended for management.
  • Support the Chief Controller in budgeting, forecasting and budget monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and deadlines; ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the acquirers' teams to facilitate audits and ensure reliability of information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the automation of reports and information flows.
  • Participate in the monthly close and monitoring of internal controls, providing relevant analyses.
  • Clearly communicate results and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Degree in accounting, finance or a related field; professional certification is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (management control/accounting); experience in the automotive sector or with acquirers constitutes an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach; ability to work with ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup and consolidation functions) and strong data manipulation instincts.
  • Excellent communication skills, team spirit and ability to prioritize in a multi-acquirer environment.
  • Fluent in French; English is an asset.
  • Autonomy, rigor and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment.
