The Automotive Dismantler plays a critical role in ensuring a positive customer experience. LKQ takes pride in providing customers with a quality part as described. The Yard Dismantler is responsible for properly removing all high-quality auto parts and usable core parts in a safe, efficient, and proper manner. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, is hardworking, and can successfully meet production quotas. The successful candidate must be able to multitask, communicate well with others, and have hands-on automotive repair experience with knowledge of automobiles. Responsibilities
- Remove requested parts to fulfill orders on vehicles within the suggested time constraints in a safety-conscious manner.
- Primarily dismantle drivetrain assemblies into components after assemblies have been removed from the vehicle.
- Label and tag each part to be placed in stock.
- Check the quality and product type of the inventoried parts.
- Participate in daily team goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of automotive parts.
- Diploma in mechanics or bodywork (strong asset!).
- Hands-on job experience.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs without restrictions.
- Must own and maintain all the tools necessary.
- Essential physical demands/work environment: Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions and intense physical labour and repetitive lifting. Must be able to lift at least 50-75 lbs.
- Working conditions: Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to extreme cold & extreme heat. The noise level is moderately loud.
