Become a vital part of the Department of Highways and Public Works, maintaining and repairing automotive vehicles and equipment that support Yukon communities. This full-time term role lasts until June 25, 2027, offering 80 hours biweekly. You will focus on light and medium duty vehicles and small engine diagnostics. Applicants must hold a Red Seal Journeyman certification and have strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and safety.
What You'll Do:
- Repair and maintain vehicles and equipment
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose electrical and electronic system issues
- Work outdoors in diverse weather
- Supervise apprentice mechanics
Qualifications:
- Valid Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification
- Obtain Commercial Vehicle Inspection certificate within 6 months
- Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
- WHMIS certification within 1 month
