GM Montplaisir, a Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC dealership located in Drummondville, QC, is seeking a Controller to join its team.
Job Description The Controller is a key pillar of our organization, ensuring the financial and operational integrity of the dealership. You will be responsible for overseeing accounting and financial activities, closing processes, and reporting, while controlling costs, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with current standards. You will work closely with the Sales, Service, and Parts departments to support profitability and customer satisfaction, and you will actively participate in audits and continuous improvement practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting and financial operations, ensure timely monthly and annual closings.
- Control costs, analyze variances, and monitor margins, discounts, and promotions to optimize profitability.
- Prepare and present financial statements, performance reports, and ad hoc analyses to management.
- Implement and monitor adherence to internal controls, procedures, and accounting and tax standards.
- Track customer and supplier accounts, cash flow, and payroll; supervise the budgeting process and forecasts.
- Analyze operational processes and propose improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Service, and Parts departments to optimize financial and operational results.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure traceability of financial information.
- Manage inventory and cost of sales, and contribute to stock optimization.
- Act as a strategic partner to management by providing data and analyses supporting decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (or equivalent experience).
- Three (3) years of experience in a controller or financial analyst role; experience in the automotive sector is an asset.
- Proven skills in cost control, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in IT tools (ERP and MS Office suite); rigor, organization, and excellent analytical skills.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting and tax standards in Quebec and Canada.
- Excellent communication skills, team spirit, and ability to work across multiple departments.
- Valid driver's license; willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in automotive is an asset.
