Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join Mercedes-Benz Ste-Agathe, a dynamic establishment located in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec. Reporting to the financial management, you will be a key pillar of financial performance and management data reliability.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee financial controlling activities, monthly closings, and periodic reporting (quarterly and yearly) in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, and reports for management, financial partners, and external auditors.
- Develop and monitor the annual budget, forecasts, and variance analyses, providing operational recommendations to improve profitability.
- Manage cash flows, liquidity forecasts, and operational financing in collaboration with operational teams.
- Ensure internal controls, inventory and asset management, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise the accounting team and coordinate interactions with external audit firms.
- Provide analytical support to management on strategic decisions and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for financial processes and ERP systems.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a financial controlling role; experience in the automotive industry, distribution, or retail is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and tax requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with an ERP system; knowledge of inventory management systems is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present results to management.
- Team spirit, leadership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; fluent French is essential, operational English is an advantage.
- Strong sense of ethics, results-oriented, and detail-oriented.
