About the role
Position: Journeyman Automotive Technician
Dealership: Mercedes-Benz Heritage Valley
Location: Edmonton, AB
Classification: Full-Time, Immediate Hire

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, test, and repair vehicle systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspect critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines.
- Repair or replace vehicle parts as needed.
- Mentor apprentices and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance according to repair orders efficiently and accurately.
- Perform all duties in accordance with dealership and OEM standards.
- Regular communication with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate repair recommendations.
- Ensure safety and reliability before returning vehicles to customers.
- Document all work performed on the repair order consistent with OEM standards.
- Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician's tools not provided by the service department.
- Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as required.
- Provide an exceptional repair experience to foster customer loyalty and department revenue.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
- Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in progress.
- Red Seal Certification is an asset.
- Completion of related post-secondary programs or training courses.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history.
