Responsibilities
- Complete general repair services including mechanical inspections and repairs such as brake jobs, exhaust system jobs, front-end alignments, ball joints, air conditioning, auction vehicle maintenance, and external referrals for transmission work
- Deliver general maintenance services including oil and fluid changes, tire changes, vehicle check overs, ensuring safety procedures are followed
- Conduct frame inspections of vehicle undercarriages to check for cracks, bends or damage
- Complete pre and post-sale inspections including test drives
- Conduct motor vehicle safety inspections covering body, frame, damage checks, transmission, differential, powertrain, and complete required safety checklists
- Perform general shop maintenance, pull vehicles into the shop, test drive vehicles for diagnostic purposes
- Provide guidance and assistance to apprentice technicians
- May assist with sourcing parts and providing quotes to customers
- May assist with completing work orders including parts and labor entries
Requirements
- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician Certification (or 310S in Ontario) required
- Experience in repair and service of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on a variety of vehicles
- Previous dealership experience
- Experience with OEM diagnostics
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills and ability to use a smartphone
Nice to Haves
- License to complete Motor Vehicle Inspections (MVI) considered an asset
- 5+ years experience
- Proven team player
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a positive and professional attitude
- Motivated self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
- Hourly: $37.50 - $40.00 CAD (Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)
