Air Canada is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill a full-time permanent Ground Equipment Mechanic position.
Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (On-site)
Starting Salary: $46.16/hour
Service: North American Airports
Category: Unionized (IAMAW)
Shift Bonus: Night - $2.50 for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The ground equipment maintenance specialist must:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs safely for various types of equipment used in ground operations at airports, in accordance with applicable regulations and codes.
- Have good knowledge of powertrains and diesel or gasoline engines. Practical knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, metal fabrication, and welding is an asset.
- Be capable of understanding various troubleshooting diagrams and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
- Have team spirit and strong written and oral communication skills; customer-oriented and able to work in a demanding environment.

Qualifications
- Hold a CPA skills card: Level 1, 2, or 3 mechanic
- At least one (1) year of experience in the field
- Pass the pre-employment qualification exam
- High school diploma
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment
- Employees occupying this critical safety position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all transportation security clearances and any additional applicable certifications. Please refer to Transport Canada's website for details.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the relevant country at the time of job offer and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
Assets
- Interprovincial qualification (Red Seal)
- Certificates or licenses related to trades, such as advanced fuel injection and diesel engine tuning, air conditioning and refrigeration, and auto inspection
- Experience in maintaining mobile park units (generators), air conditioners (up to 110 tons), pneumatic units (compressors up to 250 cu.ft/min), but experience in agricultural or heavy equipment maintenance will also be considered
