Job Description
AUTOMOTIVE PARTS CLERK
$28 to $35/hour | Full-time | Friday off at noon
Do you know automotive parts, are quick at finding what’s needed, and enjoy working directly with a mechanical team?
We are looking for an experienced parts clerk to join an established independent auto repair shop.
Here, there is no customer service counter. Your role is entirely focused on the shop: you work directly with mechanics and technical advisors to ensure the right parts are available at the right time.
You become a key person in efficiently advancing the work.
Your role
Daily, you will be responsible for searching, identifying, and ordering the parts needed for repairs and maintenance.
You will work with various suppliers to find the best options based on quality, price, and availability, while rigorously tracking orders.
You will also be responsible for:
- Quickly searching for and identifying the correct parts for specific vehicles and tasks.
- Ordering parts from different suppliers.
- Comparing prices, availability, and delivery times.
- Preparing the necessary parts for scheduled work.
- Responding to requests from mechanics and technical advisors.
- Receiving orders and verifying the accuracy of received parts.
- Organizing and distributing parts for various jobs.
- Returning parts and managing credit follow-up.
- Managing defective parts and warranty claims.
- Maintaining inventory and ensuring re-stocking of regular parts.
- Checking prices and quantities invoiced by suppliers.
- Keeping the parts area clean, organized, and efficient.
- Contributing to reducing turnaround times and workshop wait times.
What we are looking for
You have experience with automotive parts, ideally in an independent garage, dealership, parts distributor, or similar environment.
You are familiar with various automotive components and are comfortable with electronic catalogs and supplier platforms.
You are especially known for your resourcefulness, speed, and organizational skills. When a part is hard to find, you look for a solution rather than wait.
You enjoy working in a team and understand that your efficiency directly impacts that of the mechanics and the entire workshop.
What we offer:
- Salary of $28 to $35/hour, depending on experience and knowledge.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Friday off at noon.
- Three weeks of vacation.
- Group insurance after 90 days.
- Continuing education.
- Provided safety equipment.
- Team activities.
- Access to the shop for maintenance or certain personal repairs, according to established policies.
- Stable, dynamic work environment.
- Work directly with a team of mechanics and technical advisors.
- No direct customer service.
- An important role within the team
This position is for someone who loves being at the heart of the action.
Your ability to quickly find the right part, anticipate needs, and manage suppliers directly contributes to the workshop’s productivity and the work of the mechanics.
Are you looking for an environment where your knowledge of parts and resourcefulness will be truly appreciated? We want to meet you.
