Confidential company specializing in the automotive sector, based in Repentigny, Quebec, is seeking a Parts Director to oversee activities related to spare parts management, procurement, and after-sales service.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the parts management strategy (inventory, forecasting, purchasing, supply chain) to ensure optimal availability and increased profitability.
- Supervise the parts and warehouse team, including warehouse workers, forecasters, and liaison agents with the technical service.
- Work closely with After-Sales Service, Sales, and Workshop departments to ensure appropriate stock levels and delivery times that meet internal customer commitments.
- Manage the parts procurement cycle: negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, purchase conditions, cost reduction, and delivery times.
- Establish and monitor key KPIs: service rate, inventory turnover, holding costs, stockouts, inventory accuracy, and reception lead times.
- Optimize the use of ERP/MRP systems and parts management tools; lead continuous improvement projects and process digitization.
- Manage the parts service budget and control operational costs.
- Oversee returns, defective parts, and warranties; optimize logistics flows.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop talent: training, feedback, evaluation, and succession planning.
Profile:
- Relevant degree (Bachelor's in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience).
- Minimum experience: 1 year in a similar role or in parts management within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory concepts, procurement, and supplier management; automotive parts knowledge is a plus.
- Leadership and team management skills; analytical mindset and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills in French; English is an asset.
- Proficiency in computer tools (ERP/SAP/Oracle or equivalent, advanced Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize; service-minded and customer-focused internally.
- Initiative and continuous improvement orientation.
