We are seeking an experienced Used Car Sales Director to lead and grow our dedicated used vehicle sales department at Vaudreuil Volkswagen.
Job type: Permanent – Full-time
Job description Lead and develop the Used Car Sales Department to achieve and exceed annual volume and profitability targets. Implement a robust commercial strategy for certified pre-owned and used vehicles, optimize pricing and mix, and ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout all stages of the purchase process. Supervise, coach, and develop the used sales team while closely collaborating with Finance, Service, and Parts departments to provide an integrated and seamless experience. Manage inventory, acquisitions, promotions, and performance reporting (KPIs) and ensure compliance with Volkswagen standards and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the Used Car Sales Department strategy to maximize volume and profitability.
- Set clear objectives, monitor KPIs (monthly volume, conversion rate, margins, acquisition cost), and adjust action plans accordingly.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing used car sales team; provide regular coaching and foster a customer service-oriented culture.
- Manage used vehicle inventory, acquisitions, consignments, and promotions; optimize the mix for the local customer base.
- Work in collaboration with the Finance department to offer attractive financing or leasing solutions; coordinate with Service and Parts to ensure a frictionless customer experience.
- Analyze performance, produce reports, and propose operational and tactical improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Volkswagen policies and standards and deliver a consistent, high-level customer experience.
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in automotive sales, ideally in leading a Used Car Sales Department.
- Excellent knowledge of the local market and procedures related to financing and leasing of used vehicles.
- Proven leadership, team management skills, effective communication, and results-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and sales and reporting platforms; ability to analyze data and act quickly.
- Bilingual French-English is a plus; valid driver’s license.
