Job Description
At Octo Auto Service Plus, located in Saint-Lazare, Quebec, we are looking for a motivated and passionate Automotive Mechanic / Technician (Apprentice) to join our dynamic team. This position is suited for a candidate who wishes to develop their skills in a modern, structured workshop focused on quality service. Minimum required experience: 1 year in an automotive context.
Main Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of vehicles, under supervision and in collaboration with the team.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer procedures and workshop standards.
- Read and interpret plans, diagrams, and diagnostic codes; use appropriate diagnostic tools and software.
- Keep intervention reports updated and document repairs in the internal system.
- Participate in quality control checks and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Offer courteous and transparent customer service, explaining interventions and recommendations.
- Actively participate in training and continuous improvement.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an auto repair shop or relevant technical training.
- Knowledge of engine systems, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems; ability to diagnose and troubleshoot.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and interpret fault codes.
- Team spirit, rigor, sense of responsibility, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to participate in internal training and adapt to a dynamic environment.
