Rolys Service Station is seeking a Mechanic / Technician to join our busy, well-organized full-service automotive and light commercial repair shop in the Cochrane District, Ontario. Hours & Pay Structure
- Guaranteed salaried base: 30 hours per week
- Additional hours (36–43): Paid at regular straight-time hourly rate
- Overtime premium: Applies after 44 hours per week
- Full-time status: Minimum 130 hours per month
Key Responsibilities As the Lead Technician, you will:
- Perform advanced diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs
- Complete and sign off on safety-critical inspections
- Act as the technical authority for repair standards and workmanship
- Support workflow planning with the Customer Service Representative
- Diagnose electrical, drivability, and intermittent issues
- Assist in training of apprentices
- Sign off on apprentice work and hours
- Ensure repairs are completed correctly, efficiently, and safely
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and tool standards
- Follow and help refine shop SOPs and best practices This role may include front-desk duties, customer billing, or administrative work.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Red Seal 310S – Automotive Service Technician certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Professional attitude and pride in workmanship
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on automotive repair experience
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience with light commercial vehicles or fleet service
- Advanced electrical or drivability diagnostics experience
- Previous experience mentoring or guiding other technicians
