Ford St-Basile is looking for a Used Vehicle Inspection Technician to join our service team. The candidate will objectively assess the condition of used vehicles and provide detailed reports to guide purchase decisions and technical interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive technical inspections of used vehicles, covering mechanical, electronic, structural, and safety aspects.
- Diagnose potential faults and recommend appropriate repairs or preventive measures.
- Write clear, detailed, and actionable inspection reports for customers and the sales team.
- Collaborate with technicians and sales teams to estimate costs and plan necessary interventions.
- Ensure inspected vehicles meet internal quality and safety standards as well as Ford standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records; follow up on parts and warranties if applicable.
- Effectively communicate inspection findings and available options to customers and the team, explaining technical aspects in understandable terms.
Required Qualifications
- Training or diploma in automotive mechanics.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in inspection or evaluation of used vehicles.
- Strong skills in mechanical and electronic diagnostics and proficiency with diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write technical reports.
- Team spirit, customer service orientation, and ability to advise clients.
- Valid driver’s license; availability to work as needed by the service department.
- Proficiency in French; English is an asset.
