Mechanic / Technician

Y.O.R.E. Choice Auto Hub is seeking a qualified mechanic/technician to join our service team. Based in Martensville, near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, we are a family-focused used car dealership dedicated to putting the customer first and providing a quick, hassle-free car buying and service experience.

Job Overview As a mechanic/technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will work with a collaborative team in a dynamic workshop that values quality work, continuous learning, and a strong commitment to our customers.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures using OEM and third-party diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and driving behavior issues.
• Inspect and repair systems such as the engine, fuel, cooling, exhaust, ignition, electrical, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmission.
• Conduct routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations) as well as more complex repairs as needed.
• Rebuild or replace worn parts, perform adjustments, brake services, alignments, and other related maintenance tasks.
• Conduct road tests to verify repairs and ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Follow manufacturer service procedures, warranty guidelines, and workshop policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records in our workshop management system.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, provide simple estimates, and discuss recommended service options.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace; assist with parts ordering, inventory management, and safety training if necessary.
• Support junior technicians or apprentices when applicable by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and automotive service software; strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; professional and courteous attitude.
• Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg, stand for long periods, and perform manual tasks in the workshop.
• Red Seal certification or equivalent qualifications are a plus, with a demonstrated willingness to pursue ongoing training and certification.
