We are seeking an experienced controller to support Desjardins Ford Auto Collection. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the entire accounting cycle of the dealership, ensuring data accuracy, compliance with current standards, and the production of reliable financial reports. This strategic role supports financial decision-making and operational performance, working closely with the corporate controller.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily accounting operations of the dealership (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory control, bank reconciliations)
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of reports to automobile manufacturers
- Monitor cash flow, develop budgets, perform forecasts, and ensure effective financial planning
- Verify and reconcile ledger entries and balances
- Comply with tax obligations (GST/QST, DAS, CNESST, etc.)
- Collaborate on internal and external audits and act as a resource for auditors
- Work with department managers to analyze performance indicators and identify financial trends
- Supervise and train the accounting team as needed
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and dealership management policies
- Participate in financial meetings with the corporate controller and present dealership results
Requirements:
- University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally in the automotive sector
- Good knowledge of dealership accounting systems such as Reynolds & Reynolds, Serti, or CDK
- Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
- Mastery of the Nethris payroll system
- Analytical mindset, professional rigor, and good communication skills
- Bilingualism (French and English) preferred
