Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Service Director, the technical advisor is responsible for greeting customers, assessing their vehicle repair and maintenance needs, proposing tailored services, and planning the execution of work while ensuring a superior customer experience.
Main Responsibilities
Welcome customers, gather information about their vehicle, and update their contact details. Check warranty coverage and conduct a road test if necessary. Inspect the vehicle, advise customers on necessary repairs, and prepare a detailed estimate. Explain the work, obtain customer approval, and plan timelines for execution. Coordinate work with the workshop and monitor progress. Inform customers of any changes related to costs or timelines and obtain their authorization for additional work. Communicate with customers when the vehicle is ready and finalize the repair file. Manage payments and ensure the smooth delivery of the vehicle. Respond to appointment requests and follow up on ordered parts. Participate in quality control and handle customer complaints. Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements
High school diploma (DES) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role; OR Technical advice certification with 2 years of experience;
Bilingualism (French/English) required; Computer skills related to the automotive sector; Valid driver's license.

- Welcome customers, obtain information about their vehicle, and update the customer's contact details
- Take a test drive with the customer if necessary
- Check the warranty before the work begins
- Advise customers on maintenance and inform them about promotions
- Document the issues and prepare a detailed quote, explaining the work and costs
- Organize transportation for customers if needed
- Inform the workshop of the work to be done and check on its progress
- Communicate any changes in the quote or timeline to the customer
- Obtain authorization for additional work
- Inform the customer when the vehicle is ready
- Ensure that cars are parked and keys are stored securely
- Close out the repair order once the work is completed
- Respond to appointment requests and ongoing work inquiries
- Sell maintenance services and ensure that documents are up to date
- Participate in quality control and address customer complaints
- Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor
Desired profile
Requirements:
- High school diploma (DES) accompanied by at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
OR
- Certificate – Technical Advisor and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an equivalent role
OR
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in Technical Advice in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair with at least 1 year of relevant experience
