Under the responsibility of the Service Director, the Mechanic acts as a qualified mechanic, capable of diagnosing and performing repairs in several, if not all, areas; may be specialized in specific repair fields.

To perform the following tasks

Execute the work described on the repair order efficiently and accurately, according to the dealer and manufacturer standards; Determine the cause of any defects and make the repairs; Identify vehicle defects based on customer complaints and personal inspection; Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts; Preserve and label parts if the work is under warranty or if requested by the customer; Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if additional safety and maintenance work is needed; Conduct inspection and road test of newly delivered vehicles to identify obvious damages or missing items and assess driving functions; Install optional equipment requested by the customer or by the dealer; Report any defects or malfunctions of equipment to their immediate supervisor; Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order; Perform a road test with the vehicle, if necessary; Participate in required training programs to keep skills up-to-date as well as in events sponsored by the manufacturer; Stay informed of technical bulletins from the manufacturer; Supervise the work of apprentice technicians, as requested; Ensure the cleanliness of customer cars and promptly notify the service advisor of any incidents that may have changed the appearance or condition of a car; Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in automotive mechanics; Competency card from the Joint Committee of the Automotive Service Industry (CPA); Minimum of 3 years of experience; Knowledge of CDK is an asset; Bilingualism; Valid driver's license.
