This is a full-time permanent position located in London, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct complex repairs with minimal support.
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computers/software.
- Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers for roadside breakdowns.
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaints.
- Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
- Coach and mentor other level technicians.
- Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT).
- Provide other support duties as required including Service Island support.
Requirements
- The Technician IV performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds.
- Assignment requires considerable judgment and mentoring other technicians.
- Specialization possible in areas such as refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems.
- Should possess extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.
- Preventive maintenance training and qualification within 90 days (PM230 & PM298).
- Tire and wheel safety training within 90 days (TW208).
