Hansler Industries is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team in Belle River, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
This is an onsite role based in Belle River, Ontario.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and complete routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery.
- Maintain effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Discuss Service job details with customers and communicate a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements.
- Communicate with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and prepare required parts before visiting job sites.
- Maintain proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork.
- Report any safety incidents promptly and adhere to all safety policies.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry.
- Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson's ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification.
- Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset.
- Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required.

The base pay range for this role is: $42.44 to $46.68 per hour depending on experience.
