We are seeking a Deputy Director, Procurement, Physical Asset Management (land and marine vehicles) and Technical Services who will be responsible for a team of 26 people, 14 of whom are located in Baie-d’Urfé and 12 in Nunavik. This position requires travel to Nunavik totaling about 60 days per year according to your obligations and a good command of English.

Your mission:

Reporting to the Director, Stores Services (cooperatives), the holder of the position plays a key role in the strategic and operational management of the procurement of land and marine vehicles, parts and equipment, including the supervision of mechanical and maintenance services for vehicles and equipment at service locations in Nunavik.

This role is part of a context of structuring and modernizing procurement practices and physical asset management. The holder will be mandated to rethink the organizational structure and the distribution of responsibilities, to implement efficient and harmonized processes, to optimize operational performance and acquisition costs, to strengthen logistics planning, to develop performance indicators and to implement a culture of continuous improvement while supporting the transition to modernized tools and systems.

Your main responsibilities:

Profile sought:

Education: DEC in operations management, logistics, mechanical or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in team management.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles, heavy equipment or recreational equipment (asset).
• Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement.
• Experience in a multicultural or northern environment (strong asset).

• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written). Knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.
