About the role
Position: Journeyman Automotive Technician
Dealership: South London Nissan
Location: London, ON
Classification: Full-Time, Immediate Hire

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, test, and repair vehicle systems to ensure security and functionality using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance.
- Inspect critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines.
- Repair or replace parts as needed.
- Mentor apprentices.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance work as outlined on the Repair Order (RO) with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and OEM standards.
- Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production/repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
- Conduct multi-point inspections to make repair recommendations and ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
- Document all work on the vehicle RO following OEM standards to ensure warranty payment.
- Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service department.
- Stay current with factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes.
- Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge in various makes and models.
- A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process.
- Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
- Completion of related post-secondary program and/or training courses.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving history.

Compensation
- Expected range: $32.50 - $42.50 Hourly - Flat Rate. Actual compensation depends on job knowledge, education, skills, and experience.
