Job Description
Our Canadian Tire - Laval Le Corbusier store, located in Laval, Quebec, is seeking an Automotive Parts Manager to oversee the department and ensure a high-quality customer experience while supporting the store's sales objectives.
Job Description As a member of the store management team, the automotive parts manager contributes to the store's success by communicating the store's sales goals to their team. The automotive parts manager is responsible for managing and leading the department and providing a workforce and service of high quality to ensure customer satisfaction. The manager ensures that department employees meet performance expectations related to the shopping experience, sales growth, execution, and profitability. The manager works closely with the automotive center counter and the display area.
Main Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain a culture that values excellent customer service through training, supervision, coaching, and performance management.
- Hold all team members accountable for delivering excellent customer service and recognize those who excel.
- Lead by example and consistently provide an excellent customer experience.
- Implement and monitor store policies and procedures that guarantee a high-quality customer experience.
- Continuously reinforce the importance of prioritizing customer service and set realistic goals for task completion.
- Coach team members to demonstrate appropriate customer service behaviors.
- Collaborate with employees from other departments to provide an excellent customer experience.
- Maintain the quality of the department's presentation by conducting daily inspections and ensuring compliance with all store performance evaluation requirements (e.g., number of empty spaces, labels, shelf arrangements, seasonal change deadlines, cleanliness, display fronts, stored displays when not in use, etc.).
- Ensure inventory accuracy.
- Keep the warehouse organized and clean.
- Evaluate and improve the productivity of the department team by demonstrating strong leadership and prioritizing motivation and team spirit.
- Plan and manage daily and weekly department activities, working with the team to ensure tasks are completed.
- Supervise and assist team members with daily department activities to achieve set productivity goals.
- Constantly monitor work and projects in the sales area to measure progress and immediately resolve issues, remaining visible and available to team members and customers.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers, internally and externally, as needed.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with department, store, and company policies, as well as health and safety programs and rules.
- Maintain and promote workplace health and safety procedures and ensure team members adhere to these procedures.
- Participate in training and ensure that training is completed on time (including Canadian Tire University training).
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Required Experience
- Experience in sales, execution, and retail operations.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, within a Canadian Tire store, is an asset.
- Good practical knowledge of items in the department and their functions.
- Experience in supervision, leadership, and management or other relevant experience for at least 1 year.
- Proficiency in operating AS/400 and cash register is an asset.
- Proficiency in operating Costar.
- Basic math and keyboarding skills.
- Experience in a Canadian Tire store is an asset.
- Be a reference point for work methods.
- Have leadership qualities and enjoy taking on challenges.
- This position typically involves weekly overtime.

- Stand and walk for 8 hours or more.

- Repeatedly lift and turn a load during a shift.
- Lift a load above shoulder and ground level, up to shoulder or waist height.
- Walk while carrying a load and push or pull a load as needed.
- Rotate, turn, extend arms, and work above shoulder level.
Minimum experience required: 1 year.
