Under the responsibility of the Service Manager, the technical advisor is responsible for welcoming clients and gathering the required information to identify clients' vehicle repair and maintenance needs, offering maintenance services, and organizing the schedule for carrying out the work while ensuring the quality of customer service.
Main Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and obtain information about their vehicle.
- Update client contact details.
- Conduct a test drive with the client if necessary.
- Check the warranty before the work begins.
- Inspect the vehicle and recommend repairs.
- Advise clients on maintenance and inform them about promotions.
- Document issues and prepare a detailed estimate.
- Explain the work and costs involved.
- Set and validate execution deadlines.
- Obtain the client's signature on the repair order.
- Respond to technical and pricing inquiries.
- Organize transportation for clients if needed.
- Inform the workshop of the work to be done and check progress.
- Communicate any changes to the estimate or deadlines with the client.
- Obtain authorization for additional work.
- Notify the client when the vehicle is ready.
- Establish the payment method and obtain credit approval.
- Hand over the keys to the client and indicate the location of the vehicle.
- Ensure that cars are parked and keys are stored safely.
- Close the repair order once the work is completed.
- Respond to appointment requests and ongoing work inquiries.
- Offer maintenance services and ensure that documents are up to date.
- Communicate with clients waiting for special parts.
- Participate in quality control and address customer complaints.
- Stay informed about industry news and products.
- Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma (DES) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role OR a Certification – Technical Advisor and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role OR a Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Technical Advisory for vehicle maintenance and repair with at least 1 year of relevant experience;
- Bilingualism;
- Knowledge in automobiles; electric vehicles are a significant asset.
- Valid driver's license.
