Job Description

As part of its ongoing growth and to maintain the operational excellence that characterizes Dilawri, the Dilawri Group is seeking a General Manager to lead one of its dealerships located in Greater Montreal. Privately owned and operated by the Dilawri family since 1985, the group is Canada's largest automotive network, representing 38 brands across 82 franchised dealerships. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee the operational and commercial strategy of the dealership, with clear goals regarding revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily operations (sales, service, parts, finance, and back office) to ensure efficiency, quality of service, and profitability.
  • Develop and implement action plans to optimize the customer experience and sales processes, while adhering to the standards and best practices of the Group.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to management.
  • Recruit, train, and develop talent; establish succession plans; and foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, integrity, and innovation.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, team safety, and adherence to group standards, including initiatives related to customer experience and transaction transparency.
  • Collaborate with other dealerships and regional teams to share best practices and support the Group's overall objectives.
  • Lead operational investments and capitalize on growth and optimization opportunities (finance, services, financing, and digital experience).

Profile and Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (business administration, management, commerce, or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role or managing an automotive dealership, ideally in Canada.
  • Strong skills in financial management, budget planning, and performance analysis.
  • Proven leadership ability, capacity to inspire and develop talent, with a strong customer service orientation and results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingualism (French and English) preferred, with the ability to operate in a multi-brand environment.
  • Knowledge of the Quebec automobile market and sector trends; ability to navigate within a multi-brand group context.
  • Analytical mindset, proactive attitude, initiative, and adaptability to challenges.
  • Availability for occasional travel and flexibility required by the role.
