Job description

As part of our growth, we are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Director of Service to lead the after-sales service and the automotive workshop, based in Châteauguay, Quebec. This key position directly contributes to the customer experience, profitability and the company’s operational performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the service strategy to maximize customer satisfaction and financial results.
  • Lead, coach and develop the service and workshop teams (advisors, technicians, supervisors); ensure effective task distribution and scheduling.
  • Oversee all service activities: client reception, estimation, repair, maintenance, vehicle intake and handover; ensure deadlines are met and the quality of interventions.
  • Optimize operational processes, workflows and productivity by implementing SOPs and leveraging management tools (DMS, KPI reporting).
  • Manage the service budget, control costs, monitor margins and identify opportunities to increase the department’s revenue (services, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts).
  • Manage warranties, claims and relationships with suppliers and internal partners, ensuring flawless customer coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards, and promote a culture focused on integrity and customer service.
  • Develop talent: ongoing training, performance evaluations and development plans, to attract and retain top talent.

Profile sought:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a service leadership role or equivalent in the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management and skills development track record; ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to drive results through KPIs (customer satisfaction, productivity, repair rate, service margin, average handling time).
  • Experience with a Service Management System (DMS) and knowledge of warranty and after-sales processes; understanding of safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills; customer orientation and proactive problem solving.
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment (French required; English is an asset).
  • Relevant education in management, administration, technical or related field; additional degrees will be valued.
