Job Description

Our client, a well-established family-owned company in the automotive sector, is looking for a workshop manager for its bodywork and dent repair division. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, supervise a team of technicians, ensure planning and tracking of work, and maintain quality, productivity, and adherence to timelines. Your damage estimation expertise will also be essential, as you will serve as a resource for more complex files and be able to take charge of this aspect when necessary.
The tasks include:

Planning workshop work on a daily and weekly basis based on priorities, deadlines, and team capacity.

Distributing work among technicians and ensuring rigorous follow-up on repair progress.

Supervising, guiding, and motivating the team to achieve performance goals.

Participating in daily meetings and ensuring necessary follow-ups with various stakeholders.

Monitoring workshop performance indicators and proposing solutions to improve productivity and profitability.

Conducting quality checks at various stages of repairs and inspecting vehicles before delivery.

Preparing damage estimates and managing evaluation files when needed.

Ensuring follow-up, communication, and documentation required for files involving insurance companies.

Managing more complex or contentious files involving clients, insurers, or customer satisfaction.

Ensuring necessary parts are available before repairs begin and collaborating with procurement personnel.

Supervising vehicle organization and movement within the workshop.

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and ensuring equipment operates properly.

Participating in continuous improvement of work methods and process optimization.

Contributing to human resources management activities, including interviews, performance evaluations, and vacation planning.

Participating in workshop operations when necessary to support the team and ensure work continuity.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive bodywork, dent repair, and painting.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervision or workshop management roles, including overseeing a team of specialized technicians.

Excellent knowledge of the complete body repair process, from damage assessment to vehicle delivery.

Experience in damage estimation, claims management, and collaboration with insurance companies.

Ability to independently handle and manage evaluation files.
-
Good knowledge of automotive parts, repair costs, and procurement processes.

Proficiency with estimation and management software such as Mitchell, Qapter, NexeraSys, or similar platforms.

Experience in monitoring performance indicators and improving workshop operations.

Excellent customer service, communication, and delicate situation resolution skills.

Comfort working both on the workshop floor and in an office setting.

Excellent proficiency in French, both spoken and written.

Background in bodywork, automotive mechanics, management, or a related field (an asset).
Salary: Between $75,000 and $85,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm, for a total of 45 hours per week.
