Job Description
EMP Garage, an automobile and truck repair shop in Saint-Jérôme, specializing in the maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles, is seeking a Claims Clerk motivated by customer service and efficient problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and receive vehicle and service-related claims
- Record, categorize, and prioritize claims in the management system
- Quickly analyze issues and coordinate actions with technicians and internal teams
- Follow the claim cycle until resolution and ensure necessary reporting
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients and partners (insurers, warranties, etc.)
- Verify document compliance, prepare parts and associated costs
- Update customer files and claim histories
- Participate in continuous improvement of service processes and customer experience
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high satisfaction and loyalty levels
Desired Profile
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (customer service, claims management, administrative support, or insurance)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, active listening, and ability to manage sensitive situations
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in French; functional English is a plus
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office suite; management/CRM software)
- Analytical mindset, rigor, customer service orientation, and problem-solving skills
- Relevant education (college diploma or equivalent) preferred

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND OF PASCAL:
Pascal Rousseau, owner of EMP Garage, has over 24 years of experience.
He worked as an expert mechanic at a dealership before being approached by Nissan-Infiniti Canada in 2002 and eventually being chosen among the technicians in Canada to become a technical specialist. This job required him to relocate with his family to the Mississauga area in Ontario. When mechanics were unable to diagnose a mechanical/electrical problem in their dealership, they would call a technical support line, and Pascal would guide them with his knowledge to identify and resolve the issue.
He wrote technical bulletins and was consulted on very complex problems; he worked with engineers from Japan after diagnosing an issue that subsequently changed the design of the vehicle. When he left Nissan-Infiniti Canada in 2006 to return to his roots in Quebec, he worked for OBD3 Solutions to perform the same role as a technical specialist, but this time, he was assisting/directing mechanics from general mechanical workshops in Quebec and Ontario.
In January 2009, he founded EMP Garage with a partner. In August 2014, he bought out his partner's shares and brought a breath of fresh air. Pascal, who has always been a pioneer in technology, believes in the necessity of continuous training.
