About the role
Fountain Tire Nanaimo (4801 Wellington Road) is expanding its mechanical business to an 11-bay shop and is looking for a responsible, safe, and dedicated associate to join the team as a Licensed Automotive Service Technician.

Responsibilities
- Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction on a customer’s vehicle
- Performing appropriate repairs with accuracy and efficiency
- Completing approved service on customer vehicles
- Testing and adjusting vehicle systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications
- Performing scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
- Advising customers and associates on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements
- Maintaining mechanical service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis
- Operating company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner
- Supporting customer relationships by responding to customer inquiries
Requirements
- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician status + CVIP Inspection Certification is required
- Diesel experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of automotive industry and skills required to provide mechanical service
- Diagnostic specialist who enjoys keeping up with modern technology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to providing a superior customer experience
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract from province of residence annually
